Sheraton Palace Hotel

San Francisco
CA
1988
This award winning addition to the 1912 Palace Hotel containing a pool and health club grew from the eclectic mix of classical and industrial architecture of the Hotel’s famed Garden Court. Exposed and layered steel framing, broad expanses of glass, heavy columns, and classical plan recall the earlier ballroom in form, line, and scale but the spare palette of materials, color and detail combined with bold daylighting are distinctively modern. The project was completed under previous employment.
