Fire Station

Vallejo
CA
2000
Designed for a rocky hillside site adjacent to an electrical substation, this simple shed roofed building revels in its hard, industrial site. The sloping roof responds both to the contours of the land and to the program allowing low spaces in the house and higher in the apparatus bay. The industrial materials respect the budget and the site and create a strong presence on the nearly barren site.

This project is the winner of an EBAIA Honor Award and was designed under a consulting contract with another firm.
